Bowtality: The Vision

By Jeff Stirland

Hello everyone! I am so excited to be able to share this new adventure in my life with all of you. As I write this, I am sitting in a hang-on stand on the edge of a standing cornfield waiting for a late rut bruiser to come through. There is no better feeling than being in a treestand and getting to spend time with nature and experience the beauty of creation. The inspiration for this blog came to me during an evening hunt earlier in the year. The 2017 season had not proved as succesful or exciting as I had originally anticipated. I blamed my situation, being born and raised in a less than ideal whitetail state, not having enough land to hunt, etc. . I soon realized that I was reaping the efforts that I had sown into the season, and that maybe I was to blame entirely for my circumstances. Needless to say, this vision has led me to this moment right now. It had taken me 5 seasons of bowhunting the Pennsylvania woods to understand, but finally, I knew. I knew that hard-work and determination were the two key factors that were missing from my equation. College had been busy, life grew tiresome, and instead of gripping down and working harder, I rested. I was content with my situation, and that alone was the downfall of my 2017 archery season. Bowtality is the idea that in bowhunting, you have to be totally committed to improving. The vitality of hard work and perseverance is especially apparent in the sport of bowhunting, and many hunters seem to ignore this fact. Bowtality is a place for the passionate and serious bowhunter to grow in all of their pursuits and in all areas of their life. For those of you who are willing to work and who are eager to learn, welcome to the family. Be prepared to step out of your comfort zone.
